Who We Are

St Thomas' is part of the Church of England's Blackburn Diocese with worship services in the Evangelical - New Wine Tradition. Visit our worship services page for details.

Together we are sharing God's love and building the kingdom in the Parish of St Thomas' Blackpool, across Lancashire, the United Kingdom and abroad.

We exist to help people know, live and share Jesus Christ

We believe that a person can have a personal relationship with God, through faith in Jesus Christ

It is our joy to help people discover that relationship, then grow in their understanding of who Christ is, and how their lives can change.

Getting to know the word of God is very important.

What We Believe

Belief in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit is at the heart of our faith. Christians believe that Jesus is God’s Son. Jesus reveals to us that God is our Father, and that God is available to us through the Holy Spirit.

You won’t ever be asked if you completely understand all this. But you are asked whether you believe and trust. This is called faith. It is a different sort of knowledge. It is the knowledge of being known and loved, and of loving in return.

The Christian faith is not a human invention. There are signs of God’s existence and handiwork in creation for anyone to read (Acts 14.15–17). But we believe in the way we do because God has come to seek us out and has made himself known to us.

Vicar's Message

Welcome to St Thomas' Blackpool church website.

We are ordinary people who believe that God has a purpose and plan for every person.

We believe this purpose is discovered through living each day in partnership with Jesus, following his teaching and committing our lives to him.

We meet on Sundays and during the week to worship God, learn from the Bible and pray together.  The church is here for you and everyone, so please be assured of a warm welcome at St Thomas', we'd love to hear from you and even better see you when you visit.

Jesus explained his purpose for every person in these words: 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full' John's Gospel Chapter 10 verse 10

Further information about the church can be found on this website together with contact details.

Thank you for your interest.

May God Bless you

David
